“END TIMES - AN OVERVIEW



INTRODUCTION:      A list of eschatalogical events in the order of their prophetic occurrence,

                                 as far as is possible.


 1.        The open apostasy of the professing church at the end of the present age. (II Timothy

           3:1-5; I Timothy 4:1-3; II Peter 2:1-3)


 2.        The imminent rapture of the Church when Christ descends from heaven.

           (I Thessalonians 4:16,17; II Thessalonians 2:1-4; I Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10)


 3.        The seven years Tribulation Period which begins immediately following the Rapture

           (II Thessalonians 2:1-12; Daniel 12:1; 9:27; Jeremiah 30:5-7)


A. Divided into two equal segments (Daniel 9:27; Revelation 11:2, 3)

B. The first ½ will be relatively peaceful (Daniel 9:27)

C.     The last ½ will bring world-wide chaos (Revelation 6-19)

 

 4.        The Judgment Seat of Christ where rewards will be granted to the saints

           (II Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10-12)


 5.        The Marriage Feast of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7-9; Matthew 22:1-14; 25:1-13;

           II Corinthians 11:2)


 6.        The Return of Christ to earth to establish His millennial reign. (Jude 14, 15;

           Revelation 19:11-16; Matthew 24:29-31)


 7.        The Battle of Armaggedon where Satan’s armies shall be defeated (Revelation 14:18-20;

           16:15, 16; 19:17-21) The Battle of Armaggedon occurs throughout the last 3½ years of

           the Tribulation, and should more properly be referred to as a campaign. Hence, it is

           impossible to designate its occurrence at any specific point.


 8.        The defeat and binding of Satan in the bottomless pit for 1,000 years. (Revelation 20:1-3)


 9.        The beginning of the peaceful millennial reign of Christ on the earth. (Revelation 20:4-6)


10.       The return of the Jews to the land of Israel. (Isaiah 60:15-22)


11.      The final defeat of Satan. (Revelation 20:10)


12.      The Great White Throne of judgment upon all the world’s population of unbelievers of all

           ages. (Revelation 20:11-15)


13.      The establishment of the New Heavens and Earth. (II Peter 3:10; Revelation 21-22)
